Day #3....the meeting of the minds

On the road again... Mike took a short cut on the way to the house. I gave him a bad time about it because it did not feel like a short cut at all. I found out on the way home that it really was. It was a very very pretty windy gravel road between Butte and Hamilton. The front yard of the house we stayed in. This house was so perfect for all of us.
Matthew showing Grandpa his grubs...I loved the way the house looked in this picture.
The grubs....FYI: The grubs did not make the drive, we probably lost them around day #2. I hope that works for you Jenny? They were drove to death!
Grandma Dot! Now Mike is truly in his happy place.
I LOVE IT HERE! I LOVE IT HERE! I LOVE IT HERE! I LOVE IT HERE! Matthew is in his happy place too.
Anyone else want to go fishing????????
Grandpa Bob and Jim. Jim and his wife Diana had the idea to set this whole weekend up. They are lucky enough to live in this area year round. It was so nice getting to know them better. They could not have picked a better house for all of us. Matthew gave if 2 thumbs up. The only flaw he found was leaving. Now he has his sights set on visiting Uncle Bill in Washington to catch Carp in his pond.
I just love this picture of Dot. I know that it is the back of Mike's head but I did not want to crop him out because I love seeing the two of them together.
What is better than seeing a table full of people whom you love!
The house even had a pool table in the basement. It was fun to see the men get to enjoy hanging out together.
This is pretty much how Matthew looked for most of the weekend.
Matthew had three things on his list for our vacation. #1: Fishing #2 Grandma and Grandpa and #3:CHELSEA AND ALEC. He could not wait to see them!
These two are so good with Matthew...actually all the cousins are.

What is better than fly fishing on a private trout stocked pond in Montana?????
Following in your hero's footsteps and teaching another young Willits(by blood anyway) how to. I just love this picture because it reminds me so much of Clair. Alec this meant the world to Mike.
Matthew fishing away beside them.Getting the hang of it?
This was Alec saying "I think I have a fish on"....naturally Mike was in the bathroom! I had to help him pull it in(way wrong) I was so excited for him too. I think Mike was happier than Alec. The fish in that pond were way picky too Alec. You did really well! I hope you keep it up. Now your mom and dad have Christmas ideas for both of you! Chelsea needs a camera and Alec needs a fly fishing set up. You also inspired Matthew to learn fly fishing now. He has been spending his free time practicing his cast. Mike thanks you for that too!

We had two baby deer that came down by the river by the house every night. They were so cute. This was the night that one of them came right up to me. I had a picture of him right in front of me but it was too blurry and Matthew scared him away before I could get a second shot.

The steps down to the river
Uncle John(the great photographer) being the fire master for the night.
All the young guys(and Mike) decided to have a little basketball game.
If this does not date us, I remember when Mike played against Joe when he was Matthew's age.

Now here is a line up!

Grandma Dot

Laurie and Craig
Grandma Cheryl

I just like the look of the fire in this. It takes me back to hanging out at the fire.

A love being able to capture the mood of all of us sitting around the fire. Some of my shots look darker when I upload them to the blog(like this on). Remember that you can always click in them to enlarge them. You can also save them to your computer if you want them.

All tuckered out...This is seriously how Matthew crashed. He had "the best day of his life"

Day #4 has lots of great things...the tour of the yarn factory, farmers market, and floating...It is however when I started shooting RAW files. It may take me a little longer. I hope all these shots will hold you over for a few days.
