Matthew read about a world record card stacker in his Time for Kids magazine at school. He wanted to try it.
I made the mistake of showing him how to "slightly" bend the cards for beginners...
They quickly learned that a full bend was better. Sorry Jenny and Mark(Carter raided the cribbage cards for more building material)
They built towers for two hours yesterday. It was only interrupted by the dinner bell.
Even Gracie got into it.
She was so cute. The boys really encouraged her. I loved seeing them tell her how good she was and how must little girls would not even try this!
I wanted to catch the cards falling sooo badly. It proved way harder than you can imagine. They fall so fast!
Then they start over.
Here is as close as I came to it. Stable...
Leaning....
and whoosh... The sound is kind of cool like a breath of air.
I shot this through Carter's pyramid that was the scandal of the day. It took a lot more cards and all the other kids wanted poor Carter to tear it down. I kind of liked it because it provided some visual interest to my day:-)
Like this fantastic shot!
Matthew was all about height and record setting more than visual interest.
And then they fell....
