Summer at the pond

I feel really lucky to have a place so close to home that is both so beautiful and useful. Mike and Matthew have spent very little wasted time this summer. Last night we even decided to try a little night fishing. We got on our bikes and headed to the pond at 9:30. We thought we would make one more memory for Matthew before school started. Thankfully one of the houses that backs up to the pond left a light out back and it was bright enough to light up where they were fishing. Here are some of my favorite pictures from the last time they fished. Matthew had me take a bunch of him with his camera for his blog so most of these are Mike.

This is a tribute to both Matthew's great grandpa's. One of them loved fly fishing and the other one loved the Cubs. Matthew is a fan of both. Funny how the past has so much shape on the future.

I really love when the sun washes out photos in a strategic way like this.
