As most of you know I have been fascinated with photography blogs the last year. It seems like every time I have found a free moment(and there have not been many) I have scrolled through the many amazing pictures of great photographers that I could find. One of those blogs that I fell in love with was a girl named Amy Wenzel. I love everything about her blog, even her header is amazing. A few weeks ago she posted on there about an unexpected finding with her husband. It seems while fake Kung Fu fighting he hit his head. The next morning he had a seizure and they discovered he had a inoperable brain tumor. However, because they caught it early there is a lot lot lot of hope for him. All in all it is a very long story that brings them to Roch actually, and then home again to Grand Rapids, MI. I have been sucked into their story. I think for a few reasons. One being that he is only 28 years old, Two being that they are so positive about it, three being how many people can claim that Kung Fu saved their life??? Also I have to tell you that there was something else that really caught my attention from the beginning.
I read this book a while back called "Not Fade Away" I fell in love with this book from the beginning. It is the story of a man who started the whole cable industry. He died in his early 50's from Cancer. He lived an amazing life. One of the things I learned from his book was that if you plan the landing then the jumping is easy. His whole life was spent planning landings. He said that was his biggest problem with cancer. It is not possible to negotiate with it. I loved this outlook about life. If we all know how and where we want to land then we can make the jump right? Okay, so how does this relate to David? Well from the moment I clicked on the link to his blog from Amy's I knew I understood him. His blog you see is called www.jumpdavidjump. I would almost bet that he has read the book too, if not I know he would love it.
His post today is called "I may(or may not) have 10 years to live". It is worth your time. More so than all the ranting I just did:-)
