I❤faces..... "The Dance"

Just an ordinary crazy day at the McCutcheon's... breakfast for four little mouths, timeshare on the workout machine...mittens and boots and coats out..and laughter.  Lots and lots of laughter.  In an ordinary average everyday, a little girl dances with her daddy.  In a blink of an eye this little pink dress will be white and this daddy will no longer be the only center of her universe.  Today however, is an ordinary average day....a little girl dances with her daddy.

The cutest Valentine♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡

I may not have got Christmas cards out...or Thank You's(I just found them all stashed in a drawer) But, I was on the ball for Valentine's Day! I had these pictures printed the week before Valentine's Day and Matthew and I put them together one afternoon.  I cut slits he wrote names and inserted a sucker. I taped the sucker so it stayed put.  I was so proud of myself for having such a cute and unique Valentine.  Totally on the ball??Nope, I still have one for Grandma Dot and this one for Grandma and Grandpa sitting here.  Well the good news is I can save on postage by adding the Thank You cards I found from Christmas right??  Oh....is that the McCutcheon cards I see❦

The Barbershop vs. Mom's Kitchen☆

Why is "The Barbershop" better than mom's kitchen??
Lets compare...
You can watch tv while you get a haircut...at both places.
You can get your haircut exactly how you want it...only at "The barbershop"
waiting time @ "The Barber Shop" 30 minutes...Mom's Kitchen walk right up. At this point it is 2 to 2, but I think "The Barbershop" is going to run away with it now.
You can get a warm towel over your face, and your hair washed for you. Followed my a quick back massage!..only at "The Barbershop"
Clearly mom can't compare.  However, with low prices and a boy who actually begs to get his haircut.  I guess I can live with it.  I just wish that haircuts didn't make little boys look so big☹

Basketball week 5☺

All I can think when I look at these pictures is how much better they would be if they were on a shinny gym floor. Next year they will.  Then they can avoid the dreaded rug burn.  It has been quite a joke for Shana and I.  Last year Kaden got one and still says it was the worst pain of his young life.  During this game a kid the other team got one and Shana and I wondered if Kaden was horrified for him.

Look at Kaden being blocked by #23

Look at this kids face!

I love this shot so much.  Collin is the tallest kid on our team. He is quite tall if you have not noticed.  Here he is holding the ball up(not even all the way) and this little guy(okay normal sized) is trying his best to reach it.

This was hysterical! This kid was the one paired up with Matt the whole game.  He was quite an energetic player. It is hard to tell in this but he actually soft slapped Matthew with both hands here. I almost fell over laughing. It was just to get his attention it was not hard at all.

This is Matthew right after..."did anyone see that"  come on refs???A ref did see it and told the player that was not allowed.
Kaden goes in for a shot...

Matthew got knocked down(good thing he had pants on so there were no rug burns!) The kid helping him up is the same one who slapped him.  I loved seeing that.

I just love expressions like this♥♡♥♡

Here is Matthew having a discussion with his new friend.  Mike and I laugh at how into the rules Matthew gets.  This was him explaining.

I saw a few basketball pictures in B&W and loved it so I wanted to try it out.

I love seeing the tips of Matthew's fingers on the ball.

☺☺☺☺

                                         How funny is Tor                ☝

Good Game!!!

Good Game!!

Go Honkers!

I know this is out of focus but Huddy hates pictures and this was the best I could do.  I adore Huddy he is just so darn cute.  A while ago when we were on a trip with the Horner's I got accused of it being "my first day as a mom" for wanting to buy Huddy a swirly sucker for a snack.  I was over ruled by the boring parents and Huddy had to get chicken fingers☹ I vowed to get it for him someday...well that day ended up being Saturday.  Happy Valentine's Day Huddy♥♡♥♡
This is him jumping for joy!!!! Three cheers for Bionica✿❀❁

Making the most of a snow day

Today we had our....4th???Snow day(I think) I suggested that we do an impromptu photo shoot to Matthew.  He was to my surprise, all for it. Only thing was, in his mind I was going to be taking pictures of him sledding.  Nope, I wanted portraits.  I invited Hannah over to get a few too.  Thank goodness.  At least when I look at these I know I did not waste my time. Well...actually I kind of did. You see I forgot to change my settings from when I took pictures of of my signs earlier and the quality is not what is should be on these.  Oh well....I did learn a few things.  Like make sure to watch collars on coats when you shoot on a snowy day...and always check your settings!!!!

Really missing spring right now.......Can I put a hit out on the ground hog?

In honor of the upcoming Valentines Day...I Heart Faces photo challenge {We heart kisses}

I got an honorable mention:-)
I {HEART} faces has a photography contest every week.  I never know what to post..so I always chicken out.  I have been counting the moments until this week's contest thought.  The theme is {Kissing} in honor of Valentine's Day!!!! This is one of my favorite shots I have ever taken.  I notice something new every time I look at it.  It is the one shot that I as a photographer, can not believe I took! It seems like something I would have seen on one of the famous photog blogs that I follow...Dave and Charolette, Millie, Becker...anyone but ME.  I am so glad to be able to share it on Iheartfaces.com  I hope other photographers love it too.

For the record, this is my friend Jenny and her still adoring her husband Mark. He would have spent all day doing this.

I must also point out that the guest judge is another one of my favorite photographers.  I have been watching for her to post to her blog. Here is a link to it for all my fellow photog friends.  I know you will really love her stuff.

My short basketball video

Before you laugh about me having yet another video clip on my blog, and write me off as the crazy montage girl...hear me out. My new camera shoots great video that I love. However, it is in HD so uploading it directly is not an option. The only way I can share my great clips(like Matthew shooting a basket!) with you is for me to do it this way. At least at the moment. At least this one is super short right?!?!

Shana, I thought you might like seeing Kaden's excited jump in the first video clip. Sorry, I did not catch any of him making a basket. Maybe this will make you feel like you were at the game.

Kaden Bug

My friend Shana is spending a few days with her mom in South Padre Island Texas.  She is laying out on the beach and having some much needed time with her mom.  We are having Kaden over to help lighten the load for her husband Jeremy.  I thought what a great time to snap a few shots of Kaden and send to her.  I think they turned out pretty darn cute.  I tried to get a few like this of Matt....yeah, no thanks. Guess I have to keep borrowing other people's kids.

My favorite!

One last one.

Our Friday

Friday was report card day.  Matthew's teacher meets with each student and lets them know how amazing they are.  His teacher was looking up at another student when I snapped this shot.  It cracked me up.
When we got home from school Matthew wanted to build a snow man.  He ended up making a giant snow ball.  When he climbed on top he could see in the window(our windows are pretty high up).

Matthew's report card was as expected.  He can now read at 205 words per minute.  Pretty fantastic for a second grader.  He also manages to ace every pre-spelling test so that he does not have spelling homework.  This really amazes me as spelling is not my thing.  More important than that is....people are always telling us what a good job we have done raising him, he is a really good kid:-) I however, am struggling with the fact that his 8th birthday is 27 days away.

A really great setup...

Matthew was out of school today so I finally made good on a promise. I had coffee with my good friend Lisa. She has the perfect house! It is in the country and the backyard has the best sledding hill built in. The hill dumps the boys in the middle of a corn field...if they go far enough. They have to go over a small bank to end up in the field. Matthew had a blast as Lisa and I drank coffee and watched out her bay window. Then the boys came in for hot chocolate and rice crispy treats made by Lisa.
I loved today as much as Matthew:-)
