I got an honorable mention:-)
I {HEART} faces has a photography contest every week. I never know what to post..so I always chicken out. I have been counting the moments until this week's contest thought. The theme is {Kissing} in honor of Valentine's Day!!!! This is one of my favorite shots I have ever taken. I notice something new every time I look at it. It is the one shot that I as a photographer, can not believe I took! It seems like something I would have seen on one of the famous photog blogs that I follow...Dave and Charolette, Millie, Becker...anyone but ME. I am so glad to be able to share it on Iheartfaces.com I hope other photographers love it too. For the record, this is my friend Jenny and her still adoring her husband Mark. He would have spent all day doing this.

I love him more today than last Sunday. And...if I had to choose someone to marry again...I'd choose him. Life isn't always easy or even fun but with a little work each day and a LOT of commitment every second...it's a "wonderful life"! Thank you God!
ReplyDeleteMonica, I LOVE that photo. There will be a day when I will have that photo blown up and hanging proudly in my bedroom.
You're a winner in my photography book! Would you like a cup of homemade, Foldgers, crappy coffee (out of a friend's chipped mug) tomorrow morning as your prize? :)
-Jenny
What a great photo. I love the angle of this shot. Great kiss!
ReplyDeleteI love it! I love the angle, and how her wedding ring is also very prominent! Great shot...I'm so glad you didn't chicken out this time, and posted it!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great shot, very creative angle!
ReplyDeleteThank you for all the feedback! I am so glad to know I am not the only one who loves this shot. Here is a little information on how I got the shot:
ReplyDeleteThey were up in my son's tree house so I was positioned below them. I did put my focus point on her ring. I was using my old camera at the time the Canon XSI and the 50mm 1.8 lens. I have been trying to find my shooting information but I know I was in Av mode and I would guess it was 2.8 or so ap. The iso was at 200. It was sunny out but we were shaded by the trees. This picture is also stunning in B&W!
Nice angle!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you entered! You shouldn't ever be scared to enter! Seriously. I am like the biggest loser at I Heart Faces. I have never once been in the top ten, but I religiously enter. It is SO fun to meet other photographers who are learning and growing.
ReplyDeleteYour picture is AMAZING. I love everything about it. Seriously. Amazing. As soon as I clicked over I was in love with it. I hope you win! If you don't though, that is ok! Just try again! The more you try the more fun you will have! Best of luck to you! : )
Really lovely...and a great choice for this week!
ReplyDeleteMonica, you KNOW I LOVE your talent as a photographer and this picture is just one of the reasons! I believe you will win and no one will be surprised! :~)
